Dirty Projectors have teamed up with visionary cinematographer Bobby Bukowski and Pitchfork TV to produce a 20 minute film showcasing songs from their latest album Swing Lo Magellan. It’s called ‘Hi Custodian’ and the results are… well, as you’d expect. Epic, bizarre and actually pretty captivating. The plot seems to revolve around Dirty Projectors’ David Longstreth (who also directs) venturing out on an Ingmar Bergman style journey through a post apocalyptic global meltdown before bumping into the rest of the band, then finally ending up wondering around in his pants and having some sort of profound spiritual experience in the back of a lorry. So definitely worth a watch, and it’s soundtracked by one of the best albums to come out this year, so that’s good. Check out ‘Hi Custodian’ below.
