Watch: Young Fathers ‘Sister’

young_fathers_1SMALLWhat’s the first city you think of when you think about hip hop? Probably not Edinburgh. Well, Young Fathers are here to change all that. After signing to the undisputed purveyors of hip Anticon earlier this year, the Scottish crew are set to release their debut EP/mini album Tape One on 14 January. Ahead of the EP’s release, a video for the Tape One track ‘Sister’ has surfaced. The track has an infectious tribal hook set to rolling beats reminiscent of the group’s Liberian/Nigerian roots and the video is a claustrophobic flash of grime set against projections of rolling news footage… with some added killer dance moves. It’s a bit political. It’s a bit good. Watch the video for ‘Sister’ below.

Catch Young Fathers at the following Tape One release parties next year:

17th January – The Shacklewell Arms, London
19th January – Broadcast, Glasgow
