Iceland isn’t a place known for too much light at this time of year, but if the nights are long, Sindri Már Sigfússon knows how to brighten them up. Sigfússon, better known by his moniker Sin Fang, is set to release a taste of his third album Flowers (released 01 Feb) by way of the digital only single ‘Look At The Light’ on 18 Jan. ‘Look At The Light’ is the kind of track that hugs you back. It washes you in swooshing strings and softly rolling drums whilst the lyrics are steeped in natural imagery that tell of a love story between two people intrinsically linked to, and wrapped inside, an etherial landscape. Producer Alex Somers (Sigur Rós, Jónsi) has enhanced the track’s charming zither scratches and percussive quirks, and pushed the string section to a point where it lifts the song up to atmospheric heights. The nights may be long, but ‘Look At The Light’ reminds you that spring is just around the corner.
