The Knife – New Album and European Tour

theknife-e1297245712920Swedish  indie-dance duo The Knife are set to spread their unique brand of sinister sounds across Europe this spring in support of the first album proper from the outfit in nearly seven years. Exciting stuff. The band, consisting of brother/sister combo Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, are notoriously secretive about their output (2010 saw the surprising release of an ‘electro opera’ in collaboration with Planningtorock and Mount Sims). The new album, called Shaking The Habitual, will be released on 08 April on Brille. Here’s that string of European dates in support of the album I was telling you about (no dates for the US yet, but do’t worry, I’m sure there will be):

Saturday 27th April – Germany, Hamburg – Docks

Monday 29th April – Italy, Milan – Magazzini Generali

Tuesday 30th April – Switzerland, Zurich – Komplex 457

Wednesday 1st May – Germany, Munich – Muffathalle

Thursday 2nd May – Germany, Cologne – E Werk

Saturday 4th May – France, Paris – Cite De La Musique

Sunday 5th May – Belgium, Brussels – Ancienne Belgique

Monday 6th May – Holland, Amsterdam – Paradiso

Wednesday 8th May – UK, London – Roundhouse

Saturday 11th May – Germany, Berlin – Columbiahalle

Sunday 12th May – Denmark, Copenhagen – Vega

Monday 13th May – Denmark, Copenhagen – Vega

Wednesday 15th May – Norway, Oslo – Sentrum

Thursday 16th May – Sweden, Stockholm – Hangaren Subtopia

No music or teasers for the new album have been released yet, so here’s the video for ‘We Share Our Mother’s Health’. It’s an oldie but goldie.
