Despite the icy feel to Brooklyn based artist Josh Mease’s moniker, Lapland has managed to produce the smoothest early summer soundtrack so far this year. Mease produces music while holed up in his bedroom in New York but, far from the introspective, claustrophobic sounds you would assume such an environment would inspire, Lapland creates woozy, blissful slices of sunshine.
The track ‘Where Did It Go?’ is the musical equivalent of riding beachside with the top down and a cool breeze running through your hair. The track is taken from his forthcoming self titled album, released on 26 March on Hundred Pockets Records, and that album could just prove to be the soundtrack to the summer.
