Listen: Junip – ‘Your Life, Your Call’ (Tobacco Remix)

Junip, side project of Jose Gonzalez (left)Gothenburg has always sounded like an interesting place. Not just because it sounds like the home of Batman, but also because the Swedish city births plenty of creative talent and the latest to emerge from the city of long dark nights has to be Junip. The trio (the latest project from José González) produce a unique blend of heavy, folk-tinged rock with a sturdy psychedelic twist. Now the band have teamed up with fast friend Tobacco (the mastermind behind electro pioneers Black Moth Super Rainbow) who has lent his chop and paste skills to the track ‘Your Life, Your Call’, taken from Junip’s eponymous sophomore album, and the results are more than impressive. The track distinctively marries the integral melodic core of the original with an ecstatic, visceral crunchy vail that could only have manifested itself in the mind of Tobacco.
