Listen: SHUDDER PULPS – ‘Kicker’

shudder_pulpsSometimes things just fall into place. Not long after having a conversation about the lack of genuinely exciting guitar bands, lo and behold, one drops right in front of us in the form of SHUDDER PULPS. Based partly in London and partly in Brighton, SHUDDER PULPS create a sound that firmly encapsulates a naughties British garage rock aesthetic without being too nostalgic about it. Given the fact that the band cite the likes of Country Teasers and Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 as solid influences, it’s hardly surprising they manage to add a heady shot of 90s style slacker punk to the mix as well. With this in mind, it’s also hardly surprising they’ve found a home with those fine peddlers of slacker rock at Faux Discx.

‘Kicker’ is the first track to be taken from their forthcoming Housebound EP, slated for release on 12 August on super limited (x300) hand numbered 7″, and as a download from all the usual places. It’s a rip-roaring ride of energetic, crunchy guitar fueled, hi-octane melodic pop. Listen to it. It’ll make your summer.
